SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 595
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Pilot Club of Baytown on the occasion of its Legislative Day at the State Capitol, which took place April 2, 2003; and WHEREAS, The Pilot Club of Baytown was chartered in 1949 under the leadership of Pilot Club International, and with over 15,000 members, it is a vital part of the Baytown community; each year, the club donates thousands of dollars for services that provide transportation for adults who have suffered brain damage by accidents; and WHEREAS, The club promotes safety skills in the public school system and encourages public awareness of activities that could cause irreparable damage to the head and brain, such as those resulting from bicycle accidents; and WHEREAS, With the belief that American patriotism is a learned tradition that should be instilled in every generation, the Pilot Club of Baytown joins the school system each year to reach more than 10,000 students through presentations, discussions, and literature; and WHEREAS, Pilot Club members honor a longstanding commitment of friendly, compassionate, and selfless service to the citizens of Baytown and the State of Texas, and they deserve recognition for their many endeavors; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend members of the Pilot Club of Baytown for their outstanding service and contributions to their community and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
