SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 619


In Memory

of

Robert Lloyd Dockery


	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and 
commemorates the life of Robert Lloyd Dockery, who died
March 4, 2003; and
	WHEREAS, Robert Dockery was the only child of the late
Joe Elijah Dockery and Lilly Dockery-King; and
	WHEREAS, A devout Christian, he was a faithful member of 
Lilly Grove Baptist Church, where he worked with the brotherhood 
and the men's class and regularly attended the mid-week service; 
and
	WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, 
Robert gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, 
warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who 
knew him; and
	WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, 
and great-grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be 
treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 
bereaved family of Robert Lloyd Dockery:  his wife, Barbara;
his sons, Carl, Larry, and Marc; his godson, Donald Ray; his 
mother-in-law, Carrie B. Arnold; and his two grandchildren and 
two great-grandchildren; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Robert Lloyd Dockery.
