SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 628
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize National Women of Achievement, Incorporated,
Houston Chapter, on the occasion of the organization's 12th
biennial convention, which is being held in Houston
July 16 through 20, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1975 by Maudest Walls Stewart with
seven other women achievers, National Women of Achievement now
has chapters throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, The organization encourages young women to strive
for excellence, maintain high moral and ethical standards, and
make contributions in their professional fields; and
WHEREAS, Members of National Women of Achievement are
committed to carrying out their goals, supporting each other and
their community, and serving as role models as they motivate,
nurture, and inspire young people to become the achievers of the
future; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary organization that is dedicated
to encouraging young women to find success in a wide array of
professional fields deserves recognition for its outstanding
service and its many accomplishments over the years; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend National Women of Achievement,
Incorporated, Houston Chapter, for its commitment to excellence
and community service and extend best wishes to its members for a
successful convention; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
