SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 667
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to pay tribute to John W. Klein on the grand occasion of his
63rd birthday; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, John is noted for his
charm, energy, and generosity of spirit, and he is a revered
resident of Texas; and
WHEREAS, John was born May 2, 1940, in Houston to the Klein
family, for whom the town of Klein was named; and
WHEREAS, A man as at home in the countryside as he is in the
boardroom, John owns a cattle ranch in East Texas and a bank in
Houston; and
WHEREAS, John Klein is a Renaissance man who is well read
and an authority on Texas history; he is also a wine connoisseur
and is famous among friends for grilling the "best steak in
Texas"; and
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of his community,
John is noted for his courage, his compassion for others, and his
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby recognize John W. Klein as a treasured
citizen of the State of Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as a memento of his 63rd birthday.
