SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 699

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the 40th anniversary of the Stamp Mural permanently 
on display at the Eastland Post Office; and

	WHEREAS, On June 14, 2003, Postmaster Glenn Webb, 
Mayor Jerry Mathews, Chamber of Commerce President James Schuman,
and present and former postal employees will join together to 
mark this historic occasion; and

	WHEREAS, The late Marene Johnson-Johnson, a former 
postmaster of the Eastland Post Office, created the mural, 
which was dedicated on June 14, 1963; and

	WHEREAS, The Stamp Mural has been an object of great 
artistic interest to many, and it has been viewed by visitors 
from near and far on a daily basis; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate the citizens of Eastland 
as they celebrate this milestone and extend best wishes to them 
for a joyful and memorable anniversary celebration; and, be it 
further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a 
memento of this special day.
