SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 704

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 
to recognize Karen Calvert on the grand occasion of her 
50th birthday on April 28, 2003; and

	WHEREAS, Karen has served the Eanes Independent School 
District as a kindergarten teacher for more than 20 years; and

	WHEREAS, She has been honored as Teacher of the Year at 
Barton Creek Elementary School; and

	WHEREAS, Karen has a deep understanding and love of 
children, and her long career as a kindergarten teacher has 
allowed her to develop eyes in the back of her head; and

	WHEREAS, Karen Calvert is committed to teaching children 
the fundamentals of education, to setting them on the right path 
as students, and to showing them how to be good citizens, and she 
is truly worthy of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby commend Karen Calvert for her steady 
devotion to the schoolchildren of Texas and extend to her best 
wishes on her 50th birthday; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
