SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 708
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the 2003 Globalaw Americas Regional Meeting, which 
will be hosted in Austin by Jackson Walker, L.L.P., from
May 2 through 4, 2003; and
	WHEREAS, Globalaw is a nonexclusive worldwide network
of more than 70 independent law firms, with over 2,600 lawyers
located in more than 60 jurisdictions; the network provides 
clients with an international legal resource; the group also 
provides local expertise, lawyer exchanges, connections to local 
business networks, meeting facilities, and global friendship; and
	WHEREAS, Member firms of Globalaw share numerous 
characteristics, including the ability to devote personal 
partner attention to their clients, litigation capabilities,
and the ability to offer their services in English; and
	WHEREAS, Delegates from 15 Globalaw firms from throughout 
Central, South, and North America and other locations will
attend the regional meeting to discuss the network's business 
initiatives and build relationships among member firms; and
	WHEREAS, During their stay in Austin, the delegates will 
also savor Texas landmarks and traditions; they will tour the 
State Capitol and enjoy a barbecue feast at the studios of 
"Austin City Limits" located at the KLRU public television 
station; and

	WHEREAS, The regional meeting of Globalaw in Austin will 
bring many prestigious members of the international legal 
community to the capital city of our great state; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Globalaw for its unique and 
valuable contributions to the legal profession and extend best 
wishes for a successful regional meeting; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the planners and participants of the meeting as an expression of 
esteem from the Texas Senate.
