SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 709
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Drinking Water Week, which will be celebrated across
the state from May 4 through May 10, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Water follows a natural cycle from earth
to air to earth again, and it is an essential need of every living
creature; and
WHEREAS, The health, comfort, and standard of living for
all human beings depend upon an abundant supply of safe drinking
water; and
WHEREAS, The citizens of our state deserve a safe and
dependable supply of water today and in the future; and
WHEREAS, It is the responsibility of each citizen to
conserve water, to become involved in local water issues,
and to protect our water sources from pollution; and
WHEREAS, The governor of our state has proclaimed
May 4 through May 10, 2003, as Drinking Water Week; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby join the governor in celebrating
Drinking Water Week and urge Texans to support all endeavors
that protect our drinking water supply.
