SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 714
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in recognizing Assistant Fire Chief William Roger Campbell, who is retiring from the Houston Fire Department; and WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell has been with the Houston Fire Department since June 26, 1967; he served on the executive board for Local 341, Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association, for 20 years and was a member of the Safety Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for over 20 years; and WHEREAS, The City of Houston Fire Department is the fourth largest fire department in the United States and is responsible for preserving life and property to a population of 1.8 million people in an area totaling 617 square miles; and WHEREAS, An exemplary officer with the Houston Fire Department, Chief Campbell is highly respected by his colleagues, and his presence at the Houston Fire Department will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Assistant Chief William Roger Campbell for his 35 years and nine months of outstanding service with the Houston Fire Department; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for William Roger Campbell as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
