SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 736
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in recognizing Dr. Paul Jennings, who is retiring as principal of both Silver Lake and Timberline elementary schools in Grapevine after 29 years of loyal service in the field of education; and WHEREAS, Paul Jennings graduated from Haltom High School in 1971 and earned a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, and a doctorate degree from North Texas State University; he began his career at Cannon Elementary School in Grapevine as a teacher and school bus driver and has served as an educational administrator at various schools over the years; and WHEREAS, He served as principal at Timberline Elementary School, Colleyville Middle School, Cross Timbers Middle School, and Silver Lake Elementary School in Grapevine; in December of 2002, he became principal of both Silver Lake and Timberline elementary schools; and WHEREAS, An active member of his community, Dr. Jennings has served as chairman of the annual Christmas Parade in Grapevine for many years, and he is a member of the board of directors of the City of Grapevine Convention and Visitors Center; and WHEREAS, He married his high school sweetheart, Suzanne, and the couple has been blessed with three children and two grandchildren; and WHEREAS, An exemplary educational administrator, Dr. Jennings is well known for his expertise, his reliable judgment, and his resourcefulness, and he has been a positive influence on the lives of countless Grapevine students and area citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Paul Jennings for his contributions to the educational system of Texas and extend best wishes to him for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
