WHEREAS, A long limestone wall at the site is inscribed
with the words "In Honor of Those Men and Women Who Have Served in
Our Military Forces," and in front of the wall is a brick plaza

of those who have served our country and protected our freedom;
behind the wall fly the flags of the United States and the six
military services; and
WHEREAS, Bricks naming key battles and campaigns in
American history, from the American Revolution through the
conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq, line the plaza; and

WHEREAS, This commemorative project to honor the war dead

memorial for veterans was cut short; and
WHEREAS, The plaza will seat more than 700 people and

lectures for the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Williamson County
for creating this fitting tribute to those who sacrificed their

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the many people associated with the Williamson County Veterans
