SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 770
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Service Corps of Retired Executives Association
and the United States Small Business Administration; and
WHEREAS, This year, the United States Small Business
Administration is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its
creation; and
WHEREAS, In observation of the anniversary, the local
office of the Small Business Administration is joining the
San Antonio chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives
Association (SCORE) in hosting an open house on May 6, 2003; and
WHEREAS, SCORE is a nonprofit volunteer organization of
retired business and professional leaders who donate their time
counseling and mentoring individuals who want to start a business
or improve existing businesses; and
WHEREAS, The partnership between the Small Business
Administration and SCORE provides a foundation for the formation,
growth, and success of small businesses in Texas and throughout
America, and their joint efforts deserve recognition; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend the United States Small
Business Administration and the Service Corps of Retired
Executives Association for their exemplary efforts on behalf of
people developing small businesses and extend congratulations to
the Small Business Administration on its 50th anniversary; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
