SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 783
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
recognize the thousands of servicemen and servicewomen who are
serving our nation in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
WHEREAS, These patriotic Americans, along with their
families, have made many personal sacrifices in this effort to
protect and defend our nation; and
WHEREAS, For their service in Operation Iraqi Freedom,
these brave members of the armed forces have earned the
gratitude and the high regard and respect of their neighbors,
their communities, and their fellow Americans; and
WHEREAS, Several servicemen from Senate District 12 have
contributed their skills and their expertise to the success of
the operation in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, Corporal Chasen Shirley, United States
Marine Corps, is a member of our military forces deployed to
Iraq; by giving selflessly of himself on behalf of his country,
he is an inspiration to citizens in his community and across our
great state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Corporal Chasen Shirley and all
the other outstanding members of the armed forces who are serving
in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this gallant American and his comrades as an expression of esteem
from the Texas Senate.
