SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 814
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Lillian Marguerite Hornberger on the grand occasion
of her 86th birthday; and
WHEREAS, Lillian is a gracious lady who is well known for
her charm and generosity of spirit, and she is a revered citizen
of Austin; and
WHEREAS, She was born May 25, 1917, in Corsicana; she
married Thomas Austin Hornberger on April 3, 1934, in Lockhart,
and the couple was blessed with a wonderful family, which has
grown through the years; and
WHEREAS, She takes great pride in her children,
Carl Hornberger and Betty Hornberger Ivy; her grandchildren,
Frank Ivy, Jr., Carla Hornberger James, and Michael and
Steven Ivy; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hayley Ivy;
and
WHEREAS, In addition to raising her children, Lillian
worked for and retired from the City of Austin; and
WHEREAS, She loves to play the organ, and she has pursued
her interest in this instrument as a member of the Organ Society;
and
WHEREAS, A well-loved member of her community, Lillian is
esteemed for her warmth, her strength, and her spirit; and she is
appreciated for her many talents and her kindness to others; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Lillian Marguerite Hornberger
on her 86th birthday and recognize her as a treasured citizen of
Austin and the State of Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as a memento of this special day.
