SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 818
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Coppell High School Lariettes Drill Team, which won
first place in the jazz, military, and pom routines at the national
competition of dance and drill teams in Orlando, Florida, on
March 2, 2003; and
WHEREAS, The Lariettes performed flawlessly in this
prestigious national contest that featured more than 55 teams
and 8,000 individuals from 30 states; and
WHEREAS, Besides earning the top honors in three
categories, the squad placed second in the kick routine and
earned an Award of Excellence for being among the top 15 teams
participating in the competition; and
WHEREAS, The award-winning Lariettes Drill Team
consists of the following 64 exceptionally talented members:
Captain Morgan Palmer, Megan McCraney, Cali Hoffman, Hayley
Hoffman, Hillary Hoffman, Lindsay Wilson, Cassie Rucker,
Brittany Brunson, Sara Gautille, Abby Garrett, Bonnie Foster,
Kristin Nichols, Amanda Simon, Holly Stokes, Ashleigh Delvo,
Lindsey Yaklin, Diana Mazur, Brittany Arndt, Calli Bailey,
Jennifer Bailey, Lauren Brown, Amanda Castillo, Tyler Clayton,
Amanda Deveneau, Natasja DeWulf, Stacey Diamond, Jessica
Dietert, Danielle Flores, Malory Fruit, Elizabeth Galas, Torri
Garrison, Courtney Griffin, Christie Hoover, Brittany Hurlbert,
Lauren Hutchins, Jenna Hyndman, Lora Jackson, Nicki Keeler,
Kristin Kepner, Lauren Marek, Lindsay Martin, Leah McDonald,
Alli Nesmith, Lara Newbre, Brianna Nickell, Ashley Oeffinger,
Jessica O'Pry, Karlye O'Pry, Lauren Pelham, Courtney Pease, Julia
Pfeffer, Lauren Prude, Traci Reiserer, Audrey Ross, Ashley
Shafer, Carli Shute, Jordan Simmons, Cassie Smith, Layci Tarvin,
Katie Voelker, Tara Wadell, Whitney Wheeler, Emma White, and
Hayley Zwirko; and
WHEREAS, All of these team members are gifted and
hardworking competitors, and they should be proud of their
efforts and their outstanding performances; and
WHEREAS, The Lariettes have brought great honor to
themselves, their school, and their community, and they deserve
recognition for their superior accomplishments; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Coppell
High School Lariettes Drill Team and extend congratulations to
them on their national dance and drill team championship awards;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of the team, their coaches, and their school as an
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
