SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 832
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Georgia Lynn Malmsten on the occasion of her 35th birthday on May 7, 2003, and congratulate her on her promotion to operations manager of the Southeast Division of Dillard's Department Stores; and WHEREAS, Georgia Malmsten graduated from Texas Christian University and began her highly successful career in retail and merchandising in Dallas; and WHEREAS, She has proudly followed in the footsteps of her paternal great-grandfather, C. J. Malmsten, who enjoyed a career as manager of the first store of J C Penney, Incorporated, in Kemmerer, Wyoming; and WHEREAS, An innovative and resourceful businesswoman, Georgia has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication throughout her career, and she has earned many accolades for her accomplishments; and WHEREAS, An exemplary lady of integrity and exceptional talent, Georgia exemplifies the best of Texas, and she serves as an inspiration to all who know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Georgia Lynn Malmsten on her 35th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as an operations manager for Dillard's Department Stores; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
