SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 870

	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a splendid 
occasion and calls for much celebration, and Eddie and Doris Janek
of Galveston have much reason to rejoice; and
	WHEREAS, Since their marriage on May 17, 1953, Doris and 
Eddie have spent 50 years together in loyalty and devotion; and
	WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the 
years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Janek have cherished 
traditional family and moral values; and
	WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their 
love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and 
sorrows of everyday living; and
	WHEREAS, They are beloved by their children, Kyle Janek 
and Shannon, Craig Janek and Meg, and Eddie Janek, Jr., and 
Stephanie, and by their four grandchildren, Ryan, Will, Meagan, 
and Walker; and
	WHEREAS, Family members and friends of the anniversary 
couple are gathering on May 17 at the Galveston Yacht Club to 
congratulate them and celebrate many years of happy memories; 
and
	WHEREAS, The loving relationship that Doris and Eddie 
share is truly an inspiration to all who know them; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby join the family and friends of 
Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Janek in extending to them best wishes and 
congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
