SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 884
In Memory
of
Larry W. Kohutek
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Larry W. Kohutek, who died March 29, 2003, at the age of 46; and WHEREAS, Larry Kohutek was born September 30, 1956, in Corpus Christi and moved with his family to San Antonio in 1975; he graduated from Baylor University in 1980 and married Jeri Pickens in 1981; and WHEREAS, Larry was employed by Hewlett-Packard Company for 18 years before joining Sun Microsystems, Incorporated, in 1996, where he earned membership in Sun's Chairman's Club; and WHEREAS, Larry was devoted to his family and loved participating in family activities, such as hunting, swim meets, skiing, fishing, and golf; he had a passion for baseball and enjoyed coaching Little League for his boys; and WHEREAS, Besides his church and Bible Study Fellowship, Larry was active in the Emmaus Community, the San Antonio Executive Association, and the board of directors of McAllister Park Little League; and WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, Larry gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, Larry lived his life to the fullest and was a devoted husband, father, and son, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Larry W. Kohutek: his wife, Jeri; his children, Michelle, Morgan, Blake, and Connor; his parents, B. J. and Yvonne Kohutek; his brother, Robert Kohutek; his sister, Sherry Sanford, and her husband, Todd; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Jackie Pickens; his sister-in-law, Meryl Burchardt, and her husband, Mike; and his brother-in-law, David Pickens, and his wife, Barbara; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Larry Kohutek.
