SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 895
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rashad Danté Mayo, who has fulfilled the requirements
for graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin; and
WHEREAS, Rashad is receiving his diploma on May 29, 2003,
at the school's R. L. Davis Auditorium; and
WHEREAS, This fine young man has demonstrated his commitment
to his education, and his graduation is the culmination of years of
diligent study in a curriculum designed to challenge him and
broaden his knowledge; and
WHEREAS, Rashad has attended the Texas School for the Deaf
for six years; he earned the distinction of being on the honor
roll and participated in track and wrestling, in addition to
working at a job on campus; after graduation, he will work in
Houston; and
WHEREAS, Rashad can take justifiable pride in having
earned his diploma from the Texas School for the Deaf; the school
is respected in academic circles in Texas, as well as nationally,
for its outstanding quality of instruction and dedication to
excellence; and
WHEREAS, Rashad has successfully faced the many challenges
of a high school education, and he is now well prepared to embark
on an adventure into a world that holds countless exciting
opportunities for him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to
Rashad Danté Mayo on the occasion of his graduation and extend
to him best wishes for success in the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
