SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 904

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 
of Farmers Branch in congratulating Rubén Michael Rendón
of Boy Scout Troop 713, who recently attained the rank of
Eagle Scout, a rank achieved by only two out of every 100 boys
in the program; and
	WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding 
leadership through the planning and execution of a service 
project which has benefited his community; Rubén Michael worked 
on restoring the playground at the Webb Chapel United Methodist 
Church in Farmers Branch; and
	WHEREAS, He refurbished a wooden play fort, built stairs
to the fort, cleaned the playground, and repainted the metal 
playground equipment; he also built a wooden bench and set it in 
concrete, installed a flag pole, and donated an American flag to 
the church; and
	WHEREAS, Rubén Michael advanced through the ranks of 
Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before 
reaching the rank of Eagle Scout by following the principles of 
the Scout oath and promise; and
	WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young 
man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his 
troop, his community, and his state; and
	WHEREAS, Rubén Michael is an exceptional representative of 
the State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good 
fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Rubén Michael Rendón for 
earning the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great 
achievement; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Eagle Scout Rendón as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
