SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 905
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to join TexasTejano.com and citizens across this state in 
recognizing the month of June, 2003, as Tejano Heritage Month
in Texas; and
	WHEREAS, TexasTejano.com is a publishing and history 
research firm based in San Antonio, Texas; its founder,
Rudi R. Rodriguez, has researched and studied Texas history
for over 20 years with the goal of educating the youth of Texas 
about the lives of early Tejano pioneers; and
	WHEREAS, Early settlers of Tejano heritage made a tremendous 
impact on the development of this state, playing important roles in 
its architecture, government, religion, and ranching; and
	WHEREAS, There has been little public recognition of the 
bravery and sacrifices of these first heroes of this state; 
TexasTejano.com is making a significant contribution to the 
education of the citizens of our state by informing the public 
about the history of early Tejanos; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby recognize June, 2003, as Tejano 
Heritage Month in Texas and express gratitude for the many gifts 
of Tejanos to this state and to TexasTejano.com for its efforts 
to record and publish the Tejano legacy; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an 
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
