SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 913

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 
to recognize Alan Barkemeyer for his outstanding record at 
Rosebud-Lott High School as the University Interscholastic 
League accounting coach; and

	WHEREAS, Since Alan Barkemeyer began teaching in 
the Rosebud-Lott Independent School District in 1987, his 
students have earned 66 perfect scores in individual accounting 
competitions, including one of only four perfect papers in the 
state competition; and

	WHEREAS, In individual accounting contests, his students 
earned the title of district champions from 1988 through 2003; 
they were regional champions in 10 of the past 13 meets and state 
champions in nine of the past 11 competitions; and

	WHEREAS, Alan Barkemeyer's students have won team titles 
in every district, regional, and state accounting contest since 
the team competitions started in 1993; and

	WHEREAS, A dedicated and resourceful educator, Alan Barkemeyer
has instilled in his students an appreciation for hard work and a 
love of learning, and his many accomplishments deserve recognition;
now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby commend Alan Barkemeyer for his outstanding
achievements as the accounting coach at Rosebud-Lott High School 
and extend best wishes to him for continued success; and, be it 
further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
