SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 914
In Memory
of
Scott Jamar
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Sweetwater and Granbury in mourning the loss of Army
Chief Warrant Officer Scott Jamar, who died April 2, 2003, during
Operation Iraqi Freedom at the age of 32; and
WHEREAS, Officer Jamar made the ultimate sacrifice when
his Army Blackhawk helicopter crashed in central Iraq; his death
represents the horrors of war and the sacrifices that members of
our military and their families make; and
WHEREAS, Scott Jamar was born on December 15, 1970, in
Abilene, and he grew up in Sweetwater; he joined the military in
1989 shortly after graduating from Sweetwater High School; and
WHEREAS, A military pilot, Scott loved to fly, and he was
proud to serve his country; he was a devoted father, son, and
grandson, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Scott Jamar: his sons, Brennan and Kyle Jamar;
his father and stepmother, Wayne Jamar and Jennifer Jamar of
Granbury; his mother, Aggie Oldfield of New Mexico; his sister,
Elizabeth Jamar, his half brother, Paul Allen; and his
grandparents, Odean Jamar and Neva and Dan Hymer; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Chief Warrant Officer Scott Jamar, United States
Army.
