SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 946
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Head Varsity Coach Joni McCoy for her exemplary 
leadership at James W. Martin High School in Arlington and for the 
positive influence she has made on the lives of her students; and
	WHEREAS, Coach McCoy has completed her 20th season of 
coaching and has taken her teams frequently to district, regional, 
and state playoffs; she is dedicated to educating her students in 
the sport of volleyball and in the value of teamwork; and
	WHEREAS, Coach McCoy has compiled an excellent winning 
record, and on November 7, 2002, she achieved her 600th win
with the 2002 Martin High School Varsity Volleyball Team;
the 2002 team members were Megan Phillips, Emily Jones,
Lauren Hoying, Morgan Fenn, Tess Yancey, Liz Snoddy, Nicole Boyd, 
Lindsay Wilhelm, Sarah Schmidt, Michelle Klocinski, Deidre Shawen,
Tara Jamieson, Nicole Abohosh, Laura Simmons, Amy Weigle,
Taylor Barnes, Caitlyn Moore, and Daniela Romero; and
	WHEREAS, While earning her winning volleyball record, 
Coach McCoy has instilled in her students and staff the value of 
courage, dedication, hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment; and 
while confronting her personal health challenges, she has been an 
inspiration to many; and
	WHEREAS, Coach McCoy has distinguished herself in her 
profession and is a source of tremendous pride to the students, 
faculty, and staff of James W. Martin High School and the community;
now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Coach Joni McCoy for her 
outstanding accomplishments and extend to her best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an 
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
