SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 947
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Robyn Hadley for her 15 years of outstanding service
to the Texas Senate; and
WHEREAS, Robyn Hadley earned a bachelor's degree from
The University of Texas at Austin in 1984; she worked part-time
as an intern and videotape editor for the Capitol Bureau of
WFAA-TV of Dallas during her senior year in college, and she
later worked as a reporter for KCEN-TV in Temple and Waco and for
KOTV-TV in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and
WHEREAS, Robyn joined the Texas Senate in November of 1988
as an assistant committee clerk and press secretary for the
Senate Committee on Nominations; in 1991, she was promoted to the
position of committee clerk; since 1996, Robyn has served as an
administrative assistant to Senator Teel Bivins; and
WHEREAS, For the Senate Nominations Committee, Robyn
capably managed a host of responsibilities, including gathering
information on nominees and appointees of Governor Ann Richards
and Governor George W. Bush; she wrote and distributed press
releases, drafted questions for the committee chairman to ask
during hearings, and carried out many other duties; and
WHEREAS, Over the last seven years as the administrative
assistant to State Senator Teel Bivins, Robyn has managed the
senator's schedule during the last four legislative sessions,
supervised the office, managed the in-house database on bills
to be considered by the Senate, and revised the office policy
manual; and
WHEREAS, An impressive member of the Texas Senate staff,
Robyn has long held the respect and admiration of her colleagues
for her expertise and well-honed skills, and her presence at the
Senate will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Robyn Hadley for her many years
of loyal and dedicated service to the Texas Senate and extend
best wishes to her on her future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
