SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 955
	WHEREAS, Milton Frank Kuhn of Houston celebrated his
75th birthday on May 3, 2003, and for his family and many
friends this was a truly joyous and memorable occasion; and
	WHEREAS, Born in Buffalo, New York, in 1928, Mr. Kuhn 
graduated from Kensington High School in 1946 and then began his 
collegiate studies at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; he 
later completed two degrees at the University at Buffalo, a 
bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree 
in business administration, while working full-time to support 
his family; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Kuhn was a valued employee of Union Carbide 
for nearly a quarter century, and in 1962 he was transferred to 
Texas, the state he would ultimately make his permanent home; he 
joined the staff of Big Three Industries in 1977, two years later 
becoming that company's vice president of production, and he 
retired in 1994; and
	WHEREAS, A 32nd-degree Mason, this active and energetic 
man enjoys indulging in his passion for golf whenever possible, 
developing his considerable skills as a musician, and 
volunteering for such worthy organizations as Taping for the 
Blind; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Kuhn is a loving husband to his wife,
Suzanne, and he takes immense pride in his eight children and 
stepchildren, Marsha, Jeffrey, Diane, Sharon, Linda, Kathleen, 
Diane, and Trish; in recent years, the couple has also eagerly
welcomed to their extended family 15 cherished grandchildren, 
David, Jonathan, Julia, Paul, Mark, Alicia, Kristen, Laura, 
Kimberley, Kristin, Kevin, Emily, Kirby, Noble, and Payton, and 
Mr. Kuhn is an inspiration and a delight not only to them, but 
also to all those who are privileged to know him, and it is truly 
a pleasure to take this opportunity to extend special recognition 
to him; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Milton Frank Kuhn on the 
momentous occasion of his 75th birthday and extend to him warmest 
best wishes for many more happy and rewarding years to come; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Kuhn as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
