SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 979

	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Cayetano Tijerina, Jr., of Laredo 
have much reason to rejoice and celebrate, for they are now 
celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary; and 
	WHEREAS, Since their marriage on May 27, 1938, in Laredo, 
Mr. and Mrs. Tijerina have spent 65 years together in loyalty and 
devotion; and
	WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the 
years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Tijerina have cherished 
traditional family and moral values; and
	WHEREAS, Over the years, their love has grown stronger as 
together they have experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday 
living; and
	WHEREAS, The happy couple has been blessed with a 
wonderful family; their children, Tito and Aminta Tijerina, 
Dora and Ken Hickle, Estela and Heriberto Avalos, Amalia Garza, 
Fernando Tijerina, Raquel and Enrique Valdez, Isaura and Rafael Garcia,
Cayetano and Rosalinda Tijerina, Carlos and Juanita Tijerina, 
Linda and Alberto Garcia, Guillermo and Cynthia Tijerina, 
Leticia and Robert Henry, Hector and Patricia Tijerina, 
Omar and Rosaura Tijerina and Patricia and Rolando San Miguel, 
and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been the 
source of much pride and joy; and
	WHEREAS, The loving relationship that Dora Esther and 
Cayetano share is truly an inspiration to all who know them; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby join the family and friends of 
Mr. and Mrs. Cayetano Tijerina, Jr., in extending to them best 
wishes and congratulations on their 65th wedding anniversary; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
