SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 980
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the thousands of Texas employers who have steadfastly
supported those employees who were called away from their jobs,
homes, and families to fulfill their commitment to protect their
country; and
WHEREAS, More than 400,000 employers in Texas allowed
their employees to serve in the National Guard and the reserves,
both at home and abroad, with the assurance that their jobs would
be there for them when they returned; and
WHEREAS, Many employers have also been called to serve
their country and have had to leave their businesses as well as
their families; and
WHEREAS, Texas employers fully cooperate with the
Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act and
encourage and support their employees' participation in the
National Guard and reserves; and
WHEREAS, Their efforts are critical to the continued
success of our armed forces' mission to strengthen and protect
the security and the well-being of our communities, our state,
and our nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend the employers of Texas for their
support of the thousands of Texans who are performing their duty
to protect this country; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
