SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 984
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Dr. Ronnie D. Shade as an outstanding citizen of our state and to declare July 20, 2003, Ronnie D. Shade Day in the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, Dr. Ronnie Shade is well known for his many humanitarian endeavors; an orthopedic surgeon, he is noted for volunteering his services to the disadvantaged and underprivileged and for providing free transitional housing to recovering and rehabilitated substance abusers; and WHEREAS, Dr. Shade is a gifted physician, a respected community leader, and a popular lecturer on health and the prevention of illness; and WHEREAS, His faith-based nonprofit organization has shared its expertise and information with citizens and organizations across the nation; and WHEREAS, Dr. Shade strives daily to improve access to first-rate and consistent medical care for the individuals in his community and throughout the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, Listed in Who's Who in Business Black America, Dr. Shade is an exceptionally dedicated and resourceful individual whose concern for others has earned him the admiration of many; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Dr. Ronnie D. Shade for his many accomplishments and for the time and energy he has graciously devoted to the community; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as a memento of Ronnie D. Shade Day in Texas and as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
