SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 990
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Terina Reneé Conley for her outstanding contributions to the field of education; and WHEREAS, Terina received a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and a master's degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1996; and WHEREAS, Certified through the gifted and talented program of the Austin Independent School District and the Capital City Writes program, she has been a third-grade teacher at Casey Elementary School for the past three years; she was formerly a program administrator for the State Energy Conservation Office; and WHEREAS, Terina is committed to acquiring advanced training in education, and to that end she has participated in numerous professional development opportunities; she has attended training programs in language arts, mathematics, science, technology, and gifted/talented education; she has also contributed to her colleagues' professional development by serving as a presenter for Science IPG and introducing them to new science teaching matrices and formats; and WHEREAS, Dedicated to enhancing the overall success of her elementary school students, Terina strives to create a classroom environment that increases their skill levels and helps them to develop positive attitudes that will lead them to become lifelong learners; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Terina Reneé Conley for her exemplary contributions to the education of young Texans and extend best wishes to her for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
