SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1000
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Olga Molina Hernandez on the occasion of her retirement from the San Antonio Independent School District after 30 years of outstanding service; and WHEREAS, Olga began her career with the school district as an employee at Mark Twain Middle School in 1973, and she went on to work for Burnette Elementary School and Highlands High School; and WHEREAS, Over the years, her various positions with the district have included working in a business office, the bilingual education office, the communications office, and payroll distribution; and WHEREAS, Olga has also been a dedicated and active volunteer for the district; she served as president of the Parent Teacher Association and of the Athletic Booster Club at Thomas Edison High School, and she has worked with the Lasso Booster Club at Thomas Jefferson High School; in addition, she served as vice president and president of the San Antonio Educational Secretary Association; and WHEREAS, Olga has served as a committee member of the Mariachi Educational Workshop and the Texas Talent Music Association Scholarship Committee; she was a secretary for the Vikki Carr Scholarship Foundation; and WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Olga has carried out her responsibilities with diligence and dedication, and she has earned the deep friendship and respect of her colleagues, whom she considers to be her extended family; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Olga Molina Hernandez for her outstanding service to the San Antonio Independent School District and extend best wishes to her for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
