LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 16, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kino Flores, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB17 by Corte (Relating to punishment for the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code to make an offense by a person who has been previously convicted of an offense under Sections 101.63 or 106.03 of the Alcoholic Beverage Code, a state jail felony.  It is estimated that the number of offenders convicted under this statute would not have a significant impact on the costs of state or local government.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
