No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would add Chapter 230 to the Local Government Code to allow county commissioners courts to enact ordinances to protect the public health, safety, or welfare in the unincorporated areas of the county. The county would be allowed to charge a reasonable fee to persons who are subject to an ordinance as needed to cover the costs of administering the ordinance. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
