No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. 

The bill would make several revisions to the statutes governing career and technology programs.  The bill would require the Texas Education Agency to approve locally developed career and technology programs designed to lead to distinguished achievement awards.  It is assumed that the agency could absorb the cost associated with implementation of this provision. 

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  Local school districts are authorized under the bill to develop career and technology programs that lead to distinguished achievement awards.   Local school districts are directed by the legislation to include business representation in the site-based decision-making process.
