Honorable Harold V. Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues
FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB344 by Dutton (Relating to the modification of a child support order during the obligor's confinement in jail or prison.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would provide that the rendering of a judgment or order for the confinement of a child support obligor in a local, state, or federal jail or prison for a period of at least 90 days is a material and substantial change of circumstances for purposes of modifying a child support order. The Office of the Attorney General indicates no significant fiscal impact.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
