Honorable Kent Grusendorf, Chair, House Committee on Public Education
FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB447 by Hochberg ( Relating to school districts that place an excessive number of students in certain special education instructional arrangements.), Committee Report 1st House, As Amended
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require that the State-Developed Alternative Assessment (SDAA) be administered to only those students who receive modified instruction in the essential knowledge and skills courses. The bill also increases the frequency of use of the SDAA by districts as an academic excellence indicator, because the SDAA would replace end-of-course exams as an academic indicator.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
