No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill authorizes the collection of a fee in cases where Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) tests the veracity of the certification of a clothes-washing machine and allows those fees to be set at an amount to recover the costs incurred in the administration of this provision. The agency currently collects about $50,000/ year in fee revenue from the plumbing fixture certification program. Any additional revenue from certifying commercial washing machines is not expected to be significant
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) anticipates no significant fiscal implications associated with administering the provisions of the bill.
