IN RE: | HB510 by Woolley (Relating to the issuance of special license plates for federal administrative law judges.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted |
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to issue specially designed license plates for a passenger car or light truck owned by a federal administrative law judge or a retired federal administrative law judge. The bill would require the plates to be designed according to specifications in the bill; that applicants submit required registration fees; and that a vehicle owner to return the special plates to TxDOT, if the owner disposes of the vehicle during the registration year. The bill would allow eligible individuals to be issued up to three sets of the plates.
No significant fiscal implication is anticipated due to the estimated number of license plate issuances. Also, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources based on the analysis provided by TxDOT.
