No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 37.007, Education Code to authorize a school district to expel a student for certain conduct committed against another student whether the conduct occurs on or off of school property or while attending a school-sponsored or school-related activity.  The conduct addressed by the bill includes various types of assault and murder or attempted murder.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
