This note is based on analysis made by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

House Bill 577 would assign by statute the currently unassigned Hood County to the educational service area of Weatherford College.  Hood County is currently served by both Weatherford College and Hill College. 

There may be an impact on local revenues because the bill would expand the service area of Weatherford college.  Also, there may be some offseting reductions in local revenue due to the reduction in out-of-district tuition revenues.
