HB597 by Noriega (Relating to the ineligibility of an individual who serves on the board of trustees of a school district to serve on the board of directors of the district.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would prohibit an individual who serves as member of the board of trustees for a school district located within a tax appraisal district from also serving as a member of the board of directors for that appraisal district.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2003. The change in law would apply only to individuals whose terms as members of the board of directors of an appraisal district begin on or after January 1, 2004. Affected individuals serving on appraisal district boards whose terms began prior to January 1, 2004 would not be affected.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
