No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill repeals Section 2054.124 of the Government Code relating to state agency auditing of software licenses for software installed at the agency. Currently, each state agency is required to perform a biennial audit of software installed in their desktop and portable computers.The Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members of each house; otherwise it takes effect September 1, 2003.
