Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB706, As Introduced: an impact of $0 through the biennium ending August 31, 2005.

The bill would continue the Board of Professional Land Surveying for the standard 12-year period. The bill authorizes the board to create advisory committees to assist the board in developing licensing exams.  The bill would also authorize training for new board members and require the board to designate an appropriately trained person for alternative dispute resolution.

Fiscal Analysis

The bill would require new board member training beginning in 2004, authorize travel reimbursement for advisory committees, and require an appropriately certified individual to conduct training in alternative dispute resolution.

Methodology

The Board of Professional Land Surveying estimates a cost of $19,054 in fiscal year 2004 and $18,159 in fiscal year 2005 to implement the provisions of the bill.

The agency's estimate of $17,159 per year for reimbursement is based on three advisory committees meeting eight times per fiscal year.

The agency's estimate includes $895 in fiscal year 2004 for alternative dispute resolute training and $750 per year for new board member training.

 It is assumed that the agency would adjust fees to offset any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.
