TO: | Honorable Kent Grusendorf, Chair, House Committee on Public Education |
FROM: | John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB762 by Grusendorf (Relating to the applicability to certain school districts of the minimum salary schedule for classroom teachers.), As Introduced |
According to the Texas Education Agency, the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact statewide, because few districts currently pay salaries higher than the national average. Those districts that do so find it necessary to do so in order to attract and retain employees. These districts would probably not reduce salaries as a result of the exemptions effected by the bill.
