April 5, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kent Grusendorf, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB817 by Hochberg (Relating to the percent of questions that must be answered correctly to meet the performance standards on assessment instruments used in the public school accountability system.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would set a floor for the percentage of questions students must answer correctly on the state assessments.  This would not have a fiscal impact on the operations of the Texas Education Agency or the Foundation School Program.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
