No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code by making the use of a laser pointer, under certain conditions, punishable as a Class C misdemeanor. A Class C misdemeanor is punishable by a fine not to exceed $500. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice anticipates no fiscal impact from this bill.
