John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB832 by Hochberg (Relating to the offense of making a false report of a medical emergency to emergency services providers.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code by making the false report of a medical emergency to emergency services providers punishable as a Class C misdemeanor. The bill would also require the peace officer charging a person with the offense of making a false report of a medical emergency to issue a citation to the person, rather than taking the person before a magistrate. It is assumed that this bill would not significantly affect the fiscal operations of state government.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
