No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend 22.051 of the Texas Education Code to state that a teacher is not personally liable for any action that is incident to or within the scope of duties of the teacher's position of employment. The exemption from liability does not apply to criminal offenses, including incidents of sexual misconduct.
