No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Chapters 25 and 32 relating to salaries of certain judges in Tarrant County.  The bill would amend Government Code, Section 32.220(a) to remove the salary cap for district court judges and criminal district court judges having jurisdiction in Tarrant County.  The bill would allow the Tarrant County commissioners' court to give salary increases to the judges, who also receive a state salary, at the county's discretion. The bill would reenact Government Code, Section 32.220(a) in its current form effective September 1, 2007. 

The bill would amend Government Code, Chapter 25 for the compensation of Tarrant county court at law judges and county criminal court judges as such compensation relates to the salary of district judge salaries in Tarrant County.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.


Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
