IN RE: | HB880 by Bailey (Relating to the creation of an appeals process for the termination or suspension of deputy constables in certain counties.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend Chapter 160, Local Government Code, to establish an appeals process for deputy constables in a county with a population of more than three million who are terminated or suspended. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and would apply only to a deputy constable who is terminated or suspended from duty after that date.
Harris County is the only county with a population of more than three million.
